HIGH HOLIDAYS

Click here for FAQs For SHN High Holidays 5784

This year, Shirat HaNefesh will be joining Kehila Chadasha and Am Kolel for High Holiday services. Rabbi David Shneyer will lead the services, which will be held at Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda.

If you are a full member of Shirat HaNefesh and you are current on your dues (including any balance due from last fiscal year), we will send you a code via email that you can use to obtain High Holiday tickets through the Kehila Chadasha website free of charge. If you want to receive free High Holiday tickets, please make sure that your dues are current by Friday, September 1 so we can get the code to you in time. If you are not sure of your dues status, email info@shirathanefesh.org.

You may order one free ticket for a single adult household full membership and two free tickets for a two adult household full membership. There is no additional charge for minor children or for adult children living at home or in college full time, but there is an additional charge for children and teen services. If you are a full member, please sign up for both Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur services even if you are only planning to attend services for one holiday.

If you are an associate member of Shirat HaNefesh, or if you are not a member, please order and pay for your tickets on the Kehila Chadasha website. Discounts are available for those with financial constraints.

Both members and non-members will have the opportunity to make a Yizkor donation and have their loved ones’ names included on a Yizkor Scroll, as well as a Tzedakah donation targeted to Shirat HaNefesh’s selected charity, and a donation to support Shirat HaNefesh.

All adult services will be livestreamed. A Zoom link and a link to a digital copy of The New Kehila Makhzor (edited by Reb David) will be emailed to those who have tickets.

Security is provided by off-duty Montgomery County police officers at both entrances to the school. High Holiday security procedures have been reviewed by a security consultant, and several Kehila members have gone through security training.

Kehila Chadasha follows CDC guidelines for reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19. A section of the auditorium is reserved for masking-only. COVID Policy details.

Join Shirat HaNefesh as a full member and your ticket to all our High Holiday services is complimentary.

If you have questions about or have difficulty using Kehila’s webpage, email highholidays@kehilachadasha.org or call 301-284-8046.
