The Shabbat between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is called Shabbat Shuvah, "Shabbat of Return." The name derives from the Haftarah for this Shabbat, which opens with the words (Hosea 14:2), "Return O Israel unto the L-rd your G-d..."

We will spend this Shabbat singing and davening, and discussing our Rosh Hashana experiences. What did you come out of services with? Do you feel optimistic for the new year? What will you do in the 10 days of repentance between RH and YK?

Kevin is a cantorial student at the ALEPH Alliance for Jewish Renewal. He currently lives in Winnipeg Manitoba with his wife Henriette but travels between Los Angeles and Canada as a photographer.
